My name is Luke Humphrey. Since 2004, I have been a runner with the Hanson's-Brooks Distance Project in Rochester, Michigan. My primary focus has been running the marathon, where I have finished 11th in both the 2006 Boston and 2008 New York City Marathons. My personal best is from the 2006 Chicago Marathon, where I ran 2:15:22, one second faster than Boston that spring (2:15:23).
In 2006, I completed my M.S. from Oakland University in Clinical Exercise Physiology. In August 2005, I was hired as an exercise physiologist for William Beaumont Hospital- Troy, where I work in cardiac rehab. In 2009, we were ranked in the top 100 hospitals in the US for cardiology! In the spring of 2006, I started Hanson's Coaching Services, LLC where I began by putting on the annual Hanson's Running Shop marathon clinics and have since expanded into coaching runners online, as well as in the Detroit metro area. Since 2006, I have helped hundreds of runners reach Boston qualifiers, make Olympic Trials bids, make their high school state meet, and begin taking one step at a time.
